Today, London Biggin Hill Airport’s CEO David Winstanley (far right) presented a donation of £3,000 to Aerobility’s CEO Mike Miller-Smith, ahead of the airport hosting this year’s Armchair Airshow.
Taking place on May 29th 2021, live from Biggin Hill, the Armchair Airshow raises funds towards Aerobility’s work giving disabled people, without exception, an opportunity to take control of an aeroplane.
David and Mike were joined by the shows presenters, George “Smokey” Bacon well known on the airshow circuit for his witty but very informative commentary as well as being the leader of the Army Historic Flight, Mike Ling, from the Blades aerobatic display team and the longest serving member of the RAF aerobatic team the Red Arrows, Vice Chair of Aerobility and pilot Jon Windover and Hannah Gray Biggin Hill Airports Community Engagement Manager.
Last years inaugural show, live from Aerobility HQ at Blackbushe aerodrome was a huge success raising over £40,000 and viewed by thousands of people both on the day and post event. This year the show will give an insight into behind the scenes of many of the UK’s top air shows and will take you inside the cockpit of some of the aircraft that are part of the display circuit both at home and overseas.
