One of our Air Traffic Controllers, Chris Luton, recently made this fantastic model of Spitfire GPBIX / RW382. Chris has been making aircraft models for years now and describes this project below:

“A while ago I made a model of the Spirit of Kent Spitfire and gave it to Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar as a gift. They put it in a display cabinet where the new owner of GPBIX saw it. He got in touch with me and asked if I could make a model of his aircraft. I took around 50 photos of the Spitfire before I started, so that I could get every detail just right, and it probably took me around 10 hours over a couple of weeks to complete. It’s been quite nice from an air traffic perspective too, because the owner knows my voice on the radio now and always says hello!”

We think this model is outstanding and can see why the owner is so pleased with it! Keep up the great work, Chris!
