Sunrise Challenge Success!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Sunrise Challenge on Saturday 25th June 2022! The event saw 145 runners and 35 cyclists take on the challenge along our historic runway.

The Sunrise Challenge raised £4,000 for our chosen charity, Aerobility, whose work gives disabled people, without exception, an opportunity to take control of an aeroplane and change their lives through the wonder of flight.

Bradley, one of our Sunrise Challenge participants (pictured below with his Dad), is a beneficiary of Aerobility’s life-changing work. He says:

“My Autism has held me back with many things in life. However, I have had a passion for aviation and flying from an early age. This passion became reality with my first trial flight, at the age of 12. I discovered that not only did it feel natural, but I feel most relaxed in the air. With Aerobility’s assistance, I flew solo on my 16th birthday and gained my Private Pilot’s Licence 3 weeks after my 17th birthday. I am currently training for my Instrument Rating Restricted and excited to see where my flying journey will take me.”

London Biggin Hill Airport is proud to support Aerobility and would like to thank everyone involved with making this event happen. Your generous support will help change the lives of even more beneficiaries, like Bradley – enabling them to realise and achieve their dreams.
