Biggin Hill Airport supplies all of the fuel uplifted by aircraft based at or passing through the airport. Air transport as a whole generates around 2% of the CO2 generated by human activities every year. Whilst worldwide passenger numbers have been increasing at around 5% per annum emissions have increased at half that amount. This is due to massive investments in new technology for the latest generations of aircraft, aircraft utilised in the business aviation sector is at the forefront of this new technology.
Air BP is the fuel provider for Biggin Hill Airport and at the forefront of the shift towards a lower carbon aviation industry by supplying Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). To date BP Biojet is being supplied to 15 airports worldwide, whilst this type of fuel is new to the market, it is our ambition in the future to become of those airports.
